I am not a runner, heck, I’m not an athelete in any way shape or form. All the athletic ability in my family went directly to my kids. But this year, I decided I needed to get moving. The Wonder Twins got me membership to Planet Fitness for Christmas, and I decided I was going to start doing the Couch to 5K app.
I started week 2 today, and I can honestly say, I HATE RUNNING! But I’m also NOT STOPPING. I don’t think I’ll ever turn into one of those people who is outside running when it’s 90 million degrees and a billion percent humidity, or when it’s a gajillion below zero with the wind chill. I’m NEVER going to be that person. I think though, that I can turn in to a person who can at least get through a 5K.
I’m not shooting for the Boston Marathon or to even win a race. My goals are a bit more simple. I want to finish the Couch to 5K program, and I want to improve my health, and I want to lose some weight.
We’ll see how it goes.
