I’m a mom, a friend, a teacher an ex-wife and an all around good person. What makes me a mom – well I am one, lol. I have two kids that are 16 years old. In Dr. Suess tradition, we’ll call them twin 1 and twin 2. They’re great kids. Pretty much they’re the kind of kids you want to have. Jerks at home, but polite, courteous and respectful when they’re out and about. They’re athletic, and musical, and one is far more academic than the other.
A friend – well that’s pretty straight forward. I try to be a good person and be there when my friends need me.
A teacher – FINALLY a teacher. I decided when I was 13 that I wanted to be a teacher (that was in 1979 folks). It took a while, but I finally became a certified teacher in 1997, but I didn’t get my first real teaching job until SEPTEMBER of 2010. Yeah, it took a while, but that’s okay. I work in an inner city school in a very cash strapped school district, in a program for kids with emotional and behavioral disabilities. I love it and hate it. Like I said, ours is not a wealthy district. My room is furnished in early american cast-off. I recently started applying for grants and found a program called donors choose and I signed up. Hopefully that will give us some help.
An ex-wife. I was married, now i’m not. I’m better off, but being single and 44 isn’t fun. Maybe I’ll date some day. Maybe not. Who knows?
All around good person – I try anyhow.
That’s me in a nutshell.
